Q: What does your desk look like?
A: Clean, minimalistic, and organized.
Q: Where are you from? Tell us about where you grew up.
A: Denver, Colorado. More specifically, south Denver (near DTC), Thomas Jefferson HS Alumni.
Q: What led you to choose this profession?
A: During lunch, 14 years ago with a childhood friend, Frank Wilhelm, he asked me two simple questions; what are you good at (strengths) and what do you like doing? I was very lost at the time and those simple questions made me think very deeply about not chasing the money and prestige, to only focus on what I am passionate about and applying my strengths to that.
Q: What can we find you doing on Saturdays?
A: Spending time with the family. It is my balance and without it, I would be a mess.
Q: What’s the best book you’ve ever read?
A: The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You, John C. Maxwell
Q: What helps motivate you or makes you productive?
A: Envisioning the future and my life goal to create a positive legacy through family and friends.
Q: Do you have a secret talent?
A: I am an artist (acrylic, sketching, and airbrush), it was a childhood dream to become an artist. My favorite artist growing up was Andy Warhol.
Q: What’s an assumption people make about you based on your title/position?
A: I know this from feedback; many think that I had a very linear career trajectory, BIG ego, and am not a person that has ever worked in manual labor and/or gets my hands dirty (mechanical and/or landscaping).
Q: If you could get on a plane tomorrow and fly anywhere, where would you go?
A: Japan with my family. My grandfather was from Yokohama!
Q: When are you most productive? Are you an early bird or a night owl?
A: I had to condition myself to be productive in the early morning and evening. My day starts at 4:30 AM and usually ends at 10:30 PM.
Q: What advice would you give your younger self?
A: Don’t stress about making mistakes. It may seem like the end of the world at the moment, but it will help to create a better future.
